The 12-year blockage of Dhalkebar-Hetaunda 400 KV transmission line has been removed

The government has removed the main obstacle to the construction of Dhalkebar Hetaunda 400 KV high voltage transmission line, which has been stalled for various technical and legal reasons for the past 12 years. With the important decision of the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, the way to use the forest area in the Makwanpur section of the project, which has been stuck for a long time, has been opened.
The Council of Ministers has given approval to the Nepal Electricity Authority to use 2=2 hectares of national forest land under the Ratomate Community Forest User Group at Hetounda 15 of Makwanpur and the Saraswati Community Forest User Group at Bakia 2 in accordance with Section 42 1 of the Forest Act, 2076 for the project. In addition to this, the government has also granted permission to cut 1,292 trees of various species in the said forest area.
