Suspension of extra charges on health insurance renewal

Main News Image

Kathmandu. The Health Insurance Board has announced that it has temporarily suspended the system of charging additional fees to insured families who have not renewed their health insurance. According to the latest decision of the Insurance Board, until further notice, all registration assistants and registration officers have been instructed not to implement the system of charging additional fees to those who have not renewed before.

Information officer Vikesh Malla has informed that the board should not implement this decision immediately as it will take more time to prepare the necessary structure and the latest development situation. With this decision, those who have not renewed their health insurance for a long time will no longer have to pay additional fees for renewal.

Earlier, the board had issued a notification on 11th August last year that the procedure for renewing the insurance policy of the citizens belonging to the health insurance program-2082 had been implemented and if the insured family did not renew it by the end of October, they would have to pay an additional fee.
