Sixth day awareness programs under "Accident Reduction Special Campaign and Traffic Week 2082" completed

Kathmandu. Today, on the sixth day of the Traffic Accident Reduction Special Campaign and Traffic Week 2082, the Traffic Police has conducted various awareness programs in Kathmandu Valley.  

Under today's program, 7 thousand 987 passengers and pedestrians were taught to cross the road safely at zebra crossings, 66 students of schools and colleges were given awareness, 1 thousand 635 traffic volunteers were mobilized, 1 thousand 512 people were specially alerted at night, 5 thousand 315 drivers of two-wheelers and four-wheelers were given awareness programs, 2 thousand 747 drivers and passengers were wished a safe journey, 3 thousand 614 people were accompanied by passengers. Awareness programs, cleaning of 15 traffic corners, 207 people performing street plays with mascots, 140 people with reserved seat passenger friendly behavior, 14 people involved in the cleaning program, 290 participants in the lamp lighting program in memory of the people who passed away in road accidents, 21 meeting the injured victims of accidents, 125 people were taught to cross the road through the sky bridge, 30 drivers were checked that they did not consume drugs, 23 thousand 703 people on the road Users have benefited from today's special awareness campaign. 

The traffic week, which started on the 26th of last year, with the slogan "Recognition of civilized citizens, reduction of road accidents is the responsibility of all of us", will be conducted until the next 3rd of January. 

Naresh Raj Subedi, Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, said that traffic week was organized with the aim of reducing the loss of life and property due to road accidents by developing safe road manners while accepting the fact that minor negligence on the road can turn into a major accident.
