Signing of two contracts worth USD 2.37 million under MCC for road maintenance

Kathmandu. MCA-Nepal has signed two important contracts worth about 2.37 million US dollars for the implementation of road maintenance work under the Millennium Challenge Corporation MCC Compact. On Monday in Kathmandu, MCA-Nepal signed an agreement for the road upgrading work using full depth reclamation and superpave technology in the road section of the East-West Highway from Dhan Khola to Lamahi during the implementation of the road maintenance project under the MCC Nepal Compact.
Similarly, MCA-Neal has recently entered into an agreement with International Consultants and Technocrats Pvt Ltd for the supervision of the road upgradation work of the said road section and the periodic maintenance work of the Narayanghat-Mugling road section. MCA-Nepal Executive Director Khadg Bahadur Bista informed that during the upgrading of the 40 km road section from Dhan Khola to Lamhi under the project, a seven-meter carriage way and a 2.5-meter shoulder will be constructed and the road will be widened to 12 meters. He said that he believes that the activities under the agreement will reduce business and vehicle operation costs and increase road safety.
