Show civility, take the salt
Bajura. Gaumul rural municipality of Bajura has started distribution of iodized Bhanu salt from today Thursday for the convenience of the citizens within the municipality. In order to ensure that the locals do not lack daily necessities, the rural municipality has arranged to distribute salt at the rate of 22 kg per family in all the wards.
According to Village Chairman Hari Bahadur Rokaya, the service recipient must bring a photocopy of his Nepali citizenship to get salt. Residents of Ward No. 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be able to get salt from Ghatmuna, the center of the rural municipality, while arrangements have been made for distribution of salt from Sim Bazar for citizens of Ward No. 1 and 2.
The municipality has also published the time table on a ward basis to reduce congestion and facilitate management. Accordingly, salt will be distributed to the residents of Ward No. 4 and 5 today on January 10th, Ward No. 3 and 6 tomorrow on January 11th and Ward No. 1 and 2 on January 12th. It is believed that this action of the municipality to provide iodized salt at a cheap and accessible price to the citizens of remote areas will bring relief to the local residents.
