Shekhar's announcement that he will be the president's candidate in the upcoming convention

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that there is no option to hold elections on February 21 to bring the constitution on track. Speaking to the media in Biratnagar on Wednesday, leader Koirala said that the constitution has gone off track since the formation of the government. He said, if there is no election on February 21, there will be a bigger constitutional crisis. That is why the Congress emphasized on elections.

Criticizing the government, Koirala said, "Our aspiration was to hold the election at the appointed time, but the government has not been able to create the environment for the election." Leader Koirala made it clear that he would be a candidate for the chairmanship in the upcoming convention. He said that Sher Bahadur Deuba cannot be a candidate for the chairmanship again according to the constitution of the Nepali Congress.
