Sadar Zoo closed indefinitely after bird flu confirmed
Kathmandu. The zoo has been closed indefinitely after bird flu infection was confirmed in some of the animals inside the Sadar Zoo premises at Jawalakhel in Lalitpur. Sadar Zoo, which is being operated under the management of the National Nature Conservation Fund, issued a notice and said that keeping in mind infection control and the safety of visitors, all activities have been suspended with effect from today.
According to the zoo administration, with the confirmation of bird flu infection, necessary precautionary measures have been taken to prevent further spread. It has been decided to close the zoo to minimize the risk of infection and to monitor the health condition of the animals.
