Rollwalling avalanche update: Five rescued, seven still missing

Dolakha Five people who were injured in a landslide in the Rolwaling Ice Range have been rescued. Two foreigners and three Nepali citizens were rescued today by helicopter. Seven people are still missing. Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Risal informed that all five people were rescued from the base camp of Yalungi Himal. According to him, three more Nepalese guides who survived the avalanche have been safely kept in Na village. Prazia Risal said that they will be rescued soon.

An avalanche occurred on Monday morning at the place where 15 climbers, including five foreigners, who had reached the base camp through two travel companies for climbing Dolma Khang and Yalungi Himal, were pitching their tents. 3 people including a foreigner were killed in the avalanche. Prazia Risal said that the condition of the missing persons was not known.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Kumar Mahato informed that a team of security personnel including the Nepali Army went to the village for rescue.
