Risk of heavy rain: No night traffic in 23 districts
Kathmandu. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has banned night vehicular movement in 23 districts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces in view of the possibility of heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday. According to the latest forecast of the Department of Water and Meteorology, there are signs of very heavy rain in those areas, so the authority has taken this decision in view of security sensitivity.
The districts where night driving has been banned are Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Khotang, Dhankuta, Sindhuli, Lalitpur, Kavre, Sindhupalchok, Nuwakot, Chitwan, Dhading, Gorkha, Lamjung, Kaski, Tanahun, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi and Syangja. The authority has warned that the vehicle may be stopped completely at any time considering the seriousness of the situation.
