Resumption of interest subsidy on subsidized loans, payment of Rs. 10.58 billion by Rashtra Bank
Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has paid 10.58 billion rupees to 50 banks and financial institutions for concessional loan interest subsidy. The government has resumed the payment of the subsidy, which was stopped due to the abuse of concessional loans, after one year. After the formation of the new government, the Ministry of Finance released 9.80 billion rupees on October 5. According to the National Bank, the subsidy was paid on Wednesday after the data verification process was completed after the funds were received from the Ministry of Finance.
The government has been providing subsidized loans in various sectors such as youth self-employment, agriculture, education, tourism, and the underprivileged. There is a provision that the government will bear a part of the interest on this loan as a subsidy.
