Results within 24 hours of polling
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has stated that the preparations for giving the results of the direct vote within 24 hours of the completion of the House of Representatives election have been completed.
According to the commission, the necessary manpower and materials are all ready, so the result of the vote will not be delayed. The commission said that the polling will be completed after 5:00 p.m. today, Thursday 9, and the counting will begin soon after.
After that, it is said that the proportional vote will be counted. The Secretary of the Commission Krishna Bahadur Raut informed that ballot boxes will be collected from 61 places in remote hilly districts by helicopter of the Nepali Army and collected from other places by vehicles.
The commission says that the security and collection of ballot papers and ballot boxes will be done in accordance with the integrated security plan as in the past, so the ballot boxes will be safe. Acting Chief Commissioner Bhandari said, the collection of ballot boxes will be done according to the previous arrangements. The Nepali Army does not collect separately. The ballot box is not exchanged. There is no need to doubt it.
In some districts, even candidates have been arrested on suspicion of carrying money and intoxicants to influence voters. Acting Chief Commissioner Bhandari made it clear that the commission has a zero tolerance policy for such activities.
