Request to take special precautions in monsoon: 47 disaster incidents in 24 hours, 3 deaths

Kathmandu. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has appealed to the general public to take special precautions as the risk of disasters such as floods, landslides, inundation, lightning and snake bites has increased across the country with the onset of monsoon.

The authority has requested to follow the precautionary measures and get information about the weather and road conditions before travelling, giving priority to the safety of people's wealth.

According to the authority, one should be very careful while traveling during the rainy season. It has been warned not to travel at night when it is raining heavily and not to try to cross rivers, streams or rivers when there is a flood.
