Rajan of Army and Santoshi Garima of Dhading road race winners

Kathmandu. Rajan Rokaya of Nepal Army and Santoshi Shrestha of Dhading became champions in the second Garima road race. In the race of 10 km distance, Rajan came first in men and Santoshi in women. Rajan completed the prescribed distance in 29 minutes 12.12 seconds. The winner of the last edition, Mukesh Bahadur Pal of Army, finished second with a time of 29 minutes 50.92 seconds. Army's Sanjay Shrestha, who came third, completed the set distance in 30 minutes 05.00 seconds. Army's Ganesh Singh Rawat and Narendra Singh Rawat came fourth and fifth respectively.

Olympic gold medalist Santoshi took 34 minutes 54.4 seconds to complete the prescribed distance. Santoshi stood first in the first edition as well. Army's Nisha Majakoti came second with a time of 35 minutes 15.3 seconds and Srijan Pandey of Army came third with a time of 36 minutes 21.3 seconds. Army's Nirmala KC stood fourth and APF's Asha Rawat stood fifth.

The top five finishers in both groups won cash prizes of 50,000, 35,000, 20,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively. In the race organized by Garima Bikas Bank Limited on the occasion of its 19th anniversary, Dharma Maharjan came first, Abhinarayan Adhikari second, Revat Bahadur Dahal third, Sanukaji Maharjan fourth and Dev Maharjan fifth in the men's over 50 years race.

Veteran Women Over 45 Kalpana Maharjan, Maheshwari Thapa Rayamazhi, Savitra Bhandari, Giani Maharjan and Sanu Ava finished the race in first to fifth position respectively. 30,000, 20,000 for the second, 14,000 for the third, 10,000 for the fourth and 7,000 for the fifth.

On the corporate side, Ishwar Budhathoki came first, Anup KC Karki Chhetri came second and Tej Bahadur Giri came third in men's 5 km. Razina Dulal stood at the top position among women in the competition. There was also a cash prize for corporate veterans.
