Kathmandu. The Election Commission of Nepal has issued the 'Vehicle Permit Procedure, 2082' targeting the upcoming elections. According to the commission, the procedure has been implemented to make the use of vehicles orderly, dignified and controlled during the period of election campaigning and on the day of voting. The procedure has been issued because it is necessary to clarify the permit process for vehicles used by political parties, candidates or candidates' representatives for election purposes.
According to the procedures approved by the commission on Tuesday, political parties, candidates or their election representatives have to apply to the relevant election officer for a permit to use vehicles in the prescribed format. After receiving the application, it is arranged that the election officer will issue the license within the specified limits.
Candidates for the election of a member of the House of Representatives or a member of the State Assembly will be allowed to use a maximum of two 2, 3 or 4-wheeled 9 electric or mechanical powered 0 light vehicles. In places where such vehicles do not operate, there is a provision that a maximum of four horses can be used.
