President's political expert Sunil Thapa has resigned
Kathmandu. President Ramchandra Paudel's political expert Sunil Bahadur Thapa has resigned. It is said that Thapa has resigned to become a candidate in the upcoming National Assembly elections. Thapa's name has been recommended for the National Assembly election from Dhankuta.
"I have now resigned from the post of political expert of the President to be active in party politics," Thapa told DC Nepal, "I resigned on 15th November as I had to be active in the party's 11th Congress and National Assembly elections." His resignation has been accepted by the President's Office.
Thapa, who is also the son of former Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa, joined the Nepali Congress from RPP. Thapa was appointed by President Paudel as his political expert after he was defeated by UML's Rajendra Rai in Dhankuta in the last election. After Thapa's name was recommended by Dhankuta for the National Assembly election to be held in January, he resigned to go to the National Assembly.
