Preparation of the government to appoint ambassadors in 21 different countries and missions
Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal has reached the final stage of appointing ambassadors in various 21 countries and diplomatic missions in vacant and expiring positions. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 16 embassies that are vacant and 21 missions, including Egypt, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Myanmar and the United Nations Mission in Vienna, which have completed their four-year tenure and have been extended, are going to start the process of appointing ambassadors within the next two weeks.
Nepal currently has 28 embassies abroad, three permanent missions for the United Nations (New York, Geneva and Vienna) and eight consulates-general, totaling 39 diplomatic missions.
