Prachanda, Ravi and Balen should be punished: Mahesh Basnet
Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Mahesh Basnet has said that the coordinator of the Maoist center should be investigated and action taken against Prachanda. Speaking at the party's central committee meeting on Friday, Basnet said that Prachanda should be investigated and action taken against Ravi Lamichhane and Balen Shah. He said that their role in the Genji movement was questionable and should be investigated.
Basnet claimed that it was a criminal activity by interfering with the Genji movement. He said that because of the role played by UML in the country's national independence as well as development and prosperity, they were attacked the most. He said that since the government is conspiring to prevent political party leaders from standing in the elections by accusing them of corruption, he emphasized that they have to fight on the streets against it.
He said that he is of the opinion that there is a need for unity within the party and that it is not necessary to look for an alternative to Chairman KP Oli.
