Sport is the creation of human life, where there is dialogue between body and soul.
Sports is not just about sweat, it is about willpower, discipline and self-respect.
But when political power enters that holy stream, the juice turns poisonous.
Sports used to give glory to the nation, but now politics is taking its mark instead of that glory.
Rather than a player's struggle today, which party has a relationship? The question has become big.
This is the reason, the spirit of sports in Nepal is bound, the players are not free, and the future of sports is lost in a dark tunnel.

Philosophy of sport and politics 

Sports and politics are both human activities, but their souls are different.
Politics is a means of gaining power, sports is a practice of conquering the self.
Politics is external governance, sports internal governance.
Politics lives on the idea of "conquering others", sports on the journey of "conquering yourself".

But in Nepal, these two journeys collided on the same road.
As a result, politics entered the playground, and the playground became the arena of politics.
From that moment the sport became like a soulless body!
Moving, but no life.

Party platforms: A stain on the sanctity of the game

Political parties have opened their own branches in Nepal's sports structure!
Sports Confederation of CPN (UML),
Samajwadi Party Sports Forum,
Democratic Sports Forum of Nepali Congress,
Republican sports platform of the Maoist center!
All these names have been promoting the party under the guise of sports.

The selection of players, the appointment of coaches, the distribution of the budget, foreign tours!
Party recommendations play a decisive role in all.
Justice and fairness get lost in the shadows of parties.
Fair competition, which is the spirit of sports,
It has now been transformed into a document of “political permission”!

Sports Spirit and Philosophical Decline

Philosophically, sport is a process of self-purification.
Plato said

"Sports give discipline to the body and music to the soul."
But when politics comes into play, that music becomes dissonant.
The player no longer tries to defeat the opponent, but the critic.
He wants a political post, not a medal.
By doing this, sport becomes a tool, not a practice.
Sports is a field where both mind and body are bound in the same discipline.
But when political interference disrupts that balance, the player becomes a mere body and the soul disappears.
At that moment the game no longer becomes a "celebration of life" but a "show of power".

Why is politics an obstacle in the way of sports development?

Political interference has damaged sports on three levels!
1. At the institutional level, sports associations have been captured by party workers.
2. At the policy level, the tendency of each government to allocate positions to its relatives.
3. On a psychological level, the player no longer plays out of fairness, but out of fear of “falling into the party”.

As a result, the field of play is forgotten on the street corner, while the same player who once flew the country's flag to the world.

Why is it important for the game to be free?

Unless the sport is free, it cannot give pride to the nation.
The spirit of sport flourishes only when it is fair, free and transparent.
Politics should not make sports its propaganda tool.
Sports should be given an environment to become a means of national pride.
for that,
•Merit system should be implemented in sports associations,
* The Sports Council should be completely non-partisan,
•Legal provisions are needed to free sportsmen from political pressure.

The relationship between politics and sports should be like water and oil, they can live in the same pot, but they don't mix.

In conclusion
Sports is not just a competition it is a philosophy of life.
Where labor is respected, and discipline respected.
But when political intervention comes into play, it is the power of recommendation, not labor, that speaks.
So the first step in the renaissance of sports is
Making the holy spirit of sports free from politics.

When the game is free, then the player will be free;
When the player is free, then the soul of the nation will be free.
And when the soul of a nation is free
That country wins recognition, not just medals.
