Permanent reconstruction of damaged BP highway begins

Kavrepalanchok. The construction of the BP highway, which has been damaged by repeated floods and landslides, has been started permanently. Divisional Road Office Bhaktapur has informed that the permanent reconstruction of the damaged road section of the highway, which is a short distance connecting the eastern and central hilly areas of Nepal with the federal capital Kathmandu, has been started from three places.

Last year in the second week of October and this year in the third week of October, the flood caused damage to about 30 km of roads in the Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli section of the highway. According to the office, the damaged highway, which was put into operation temporarily since last year, has been permanently constructed after the flood swept away various sections of the road.

Suman Yogesh, Chief Divisional Engineer of the office informed that the contract has been signed for the permanent reconstruction of three of the damaged road sections and the work has been started. According to him, permanent construction work has been started from the three damaged sections towards Kavrepalanchok including Chowkidanda, Mangaltar, Narke Gimdi.
