Passengers started returning home from Kathmandu Valley for Dasain

Kathmandu. As big festivals such as Dasain and Tihar are approaching, the number of passengers returning home from Kathmandu Valley has started to increase. It is estimated that at least eight lakh citizens will leave the valley on the occasion of the festival. 

Nareshraj Subedi, Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and Superintendent of Police informed that as the citizens in the valley began to return to their permanent homes to celebrate the festival, the traffic of passengers at the main bus park and the exit point of the valley has increased.

He said, "Especially for Dasain, the number of passengers returning home is gradually increasing. This year, it is estimated that at least eight lakh more people will leave the valley for festivals including Dasain and Tihar."

According to Punya Prasad Sitaula, President of the Nepal National Transport Traders Association, as the main festival season approaches, the number of passengers in public vehicles has started to increase. He said that along with the regular service, additional vehicles have been prepared to operate as per the need for the passengers going from the valley to different districts of the country easily to their destination.
