Order to hear witnesses in embezzlement of Patanjali Yogpeeth land attached to Madhav Nepal
Kathmandu. The special court has ordered the hearing of witnesses in the land embezzlement case of Patanjali Yoga Peeth and Ayurveda Company Nepal, related to former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. The bench of special court judges Narayan Prasad Paudel and Dilliratna Shrestha has ordered the government and the defendants to produce witnesses.
Earlier, the bench of Special Court President Sudarshandev Bhatt and Judge Hemant Rawal handed over the file of the decision of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission to investigate Madhav Nepal and others. After this, after receiving the file of the case related to Nepal from the authority, the hearing was scheduled for Sunday.
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case in a special court by making 93 people including Nepal as defendants in the land embezzlement case of Patanjali Yogpeeth and Ayurveda Company Nepal. A fine and punishment of Rs 185.58 lakh 50 thousand has been demanded against Nepal. It is mentioned in the charge sheet of the authority that as the then prime minister, Nepal misused the position and transferred government public property to personal and institutional interests.
