Operation of TB search campaign with AI technology in Palpa
Kathmandu. A campaign to identify tuberculosis patients through artificial intelligence 9AI0 X-ray technology has been conducted in Purvkhola Rural Municipality of Palpa. In coordination with the district health office, camps were organized and tested at Birkot and Silua health posts. 187 people in Birkot and 280 people in Siluwa have been examined.
During the tests, 34 suspected patients were identified in Birkot and 45 in Silua. Four of them have been treated immediately.
According to Mohan Dhakal, the head of the health branch of the rural municipality, the technology can analyze the X-ray images of the lungs through software and identify subtle problems that cannot be seen through normal tests. It is said that this will help to distinguish high-risk patients before the cancer test.
The suspected patient has been referred to the United Mission Hospital in Tansen for further tests.
