Objection to the increase in the health examination fee for those going for foreign employment
Kathmandu. The Nepal Democratic Foreign Employment Professionals Association has objected to the increase in the health examination fees of workers going for foreign employment. The association has issued a statement today and has objected to the increase in health fees that will be implemented from November 10, which will be a huge burden for workers going to foreign employment.
The government has doubled the fee from Rs 4,500 to Rs 9,500 in case of UAE countries and from Rs 6,500 to Rs 9,500 in case of other countries. According to the statement issued by Deepak Thapa, the president of the association, it is the understanding of the association that the fee increase has put a heavy burden on the poor and underprivileged workers who go for foreign employment.
Similarly, Chairman Thapa mentioned that while the service fee of Rs 10,000 is set for workers going to the Gulf and Malaysia, the health examination fee of Rs 9,500 is a matter of serious objection. According to the association, Nepalis who go to Malaysia and the Gulf countries for employment are those who are in extreme poverty. According to the association, 1,500 young people go to those countries for employment every day and this decision will increase the economic burden on the poor workers.
It is said that it is not good to increase the fee for the tests in Nepal when the destination country does not trust the health tests conducted in Nepal and conducts health tests according to the standards of its own country.
