NMB Bank launched 'Softpos' service, card payments can be taken from smartphones

Kathmandu. NMB Bank has launched Softpos service for the first time in Nepal. According to the bank, any supported Android mobile phone can be used as a POS machine. Through this service, small and medium enterprises and tourism enterprises, including other businesses, can accept payments through debit or credit cards on their mobile phones. The use of this service will enable businessmen to receive digital payments without the hassle of a POS machine.

According to NMB Bank, the aim is to make small traders, delivery services, and entrepreneurs in remote rural areas participate in the digital payment system through the use of Softpos.

Govind Ghimire, Chief Executive Officer of Nambi Bank, said, 'SoftPOS service is not just a new technology, it is a big step towards Nepal's entrepreneurship and digital future. The mobile phone in every merchant's pocket will now become a payment terminal, and business operations will be easier and safer.

The bank said that since SoftPOS will work in accordance with international security standards, safe and simple payment will be ensured for both merchants and customers.
