New interest rate of commercial banks for August announced, how much of which bank?
Kathmandu. The rate of interest of commercial banks has continued to decrease. This is shown by the details of the new interest rates released by the commercial banks for the month of August. Compared to July, the average interest rate for both individuals and institutions has decreased in August. For the month of August, 5 of the 20 commercial banks have reduced the interest rates of the previous month, while the remaining 15 have continued the old rates.
Siddharth Bank and Nepal Bank have reduced the interest rate the most. Siddharth Bank has reduced the interest rate by 0.29 percent for individuals and 0.20 percent for institutions. Similarly, Nepal Bank has reduced the interest rate by 0.1 percent for individuals and 0.5 percent for institutions.
Similarly, while Citizens Bank International has reduced the interest rate by 0.1 percent, Kumari Bank has reduced it by 0.09 percent and Standard Chartered Bank has reduced it by 0.05 percent. All these three banks have kept the institutional interest rate constant at the same rate as in July.
