Nepal's strong start before the World Cup, UAE defeated by 7 wickets

Kathmandu. The Nepali cricket team, which is preparing for the ICC T-20 World Cup 2026, has made a strong start with the first warm-up match. Nepal won by 7 wickets against the well-known rival United Arab Emirates UAE.
After losing three wickets in the beginning, Nepal was under pressure and vice-captain Dipendrasingh Airi and Arif Shaikh returned to the road of victory with an excellent partnership. Both of them made an unbeaten partnership of 108 runs for the fourth wicket and gave the team an easy victory.
Chasing the target of 146 runs, Nepal had already lost three wickets when they scored 45 runs in 6.5 overs. Both openers Kushal Bhurtel and Ashif Sheikh were dismissed for eight runs each, while captain Rohit Kumar Poudel was run out after scoring 16 runs and Nepal was under pressure.
