Nepalis in Myanmar fraud centers: 14 repatriated, 11 awaiting rescue

Kathmandu. 14 Nepalis who reached Myanmar under various temptations have been rescued. The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok (Thailand) said that they were rescued with the help of relevant agencies. They were rescued from Myawdi in Myanmar and sent to Nepal today through the immigration office of Tak province in Thailand, Mesot.

According to the embassy, ​​efforts are being made to rescue 11 more Nepalis in Myanmar as soon as possible. After 19 October 2025, more than 2000 foreigners from 20 different countries, including 38 Nepalese, entered Thailand from various online fraud centers in Myawdi, Myanmar. The embassy has also requested not to be tempted by anyone for foreign employment only after obtaining a work permit.

"The embassy requests all those concerned not to go for foreign employment only after obtaining a labor permit according to the standards set by the Nepalese government and not to come for foreign employment under the pretext of visiting Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and other countries out of the temptation of making fast and big money," the statement said.
