Kathmandu. Today, Nepal is competing against England in the first match of the ICC T20 Men's World Cup Cricket. Nepal is going to face the world champion England on Sunday in the first match of the ICC T-20 Cricket World Cup 2026 jointly organized by India and Sri Lanka. The match will start at 3:15 PM at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. All the matches of Nepal in the World Cup will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In 2014, Nepal secured a place in the World Cup organized by Bangladesh for the first time. It took 10 years for Nepal to play the World Cup for the second time. In the 2024 World Cup, Nepal has made itself the focus of world cricket by performing well against South Africa and Bangladesh. Nepal was defeated by South Africa by one run.
Nepal, which has played in the World Cup twice before, has not been able to advance beyond the group stage. Nepal is continuously playing the World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar Paudel. Sompal Kami is the first Nepali player to play in the World Cup three times.
