NAIMA's demand to make the rules of agency registration business-friendly, request to remove the provision of taking bond according to the model
Kathmandu. Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has requested the government to make the existing rules regarding agency registration businessmen and entrepreneurs friendly.
A NAIMA delegation met Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Deepak Kumar Saha on Thursday to discuss the impact of agency registration rules on the automobile business.
During the discussion, NAIMA drew attention to the provision of depositing 0.5 percent of the company's capital when registering an agency or adding a new item. In addition, the association has also raised the issue that the definition of 'goods' is not clear in the existing rules. According to NAIMA, considering different models under the same brand as separate 'items' and asking for a separate bond for each model can add to the financial burden by holding back large sums of business for a long time.
Therefore, the association has requested the government to define a clear definition of 'goods' and to remove the provision of separate bonds for different models of the same brand. NAIMA has already submitted written suggestions to the ministry on this matter. During the meeting, Minister Sah said that he will review the previous decisions while taking the issues raised by the association positively. According to NAIMA, he expressed his commitment to proceed with the necessary process to make the agency registration rules businessmen and entrepreneurs friendly.
Expressing gratitude for the positive initiative of the Ministry, NAIMA said that it is ready to cooperate with the Ministry by providing necessary facts, details and suggestions during the review of the rules. Board members of NAIMA Nirakar Shrestha and Udayan Kabra, coordinator of strategy and membership affairs committee Akash Golcha, member companies Shasheela Motors Pvt. Ltd., Omni Motors Pvt. Ltd., Spark Automotives Pvt. And a team including representative of Continental Trading Enterprises and executive director of NAIMA Rajkumar Dulal participated.
