NADA expresses grief over severe floods in Rasuwa, urges vigilance in affected areas

Kathmandu. Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association NADA has expressed deep sorrow over the extensive damage caused to life, infrastructure and public and private property in Timure, Syafrabensi and Rasuwagadhi areas due to the severe flood in Bhotekoshi river of Rasuwa on Wednesday morning.

According to the preliminary report, NADA has said that there has been major damage to important physical properties including roads and bridges, electricity and communication infrastructure, vehicles, market areas, hydropower projects, structures of government and security agencies.

Due to the flood, the area police office Timure, police station Syafrubensi and police station Rasuwagadhi have also been affected. As the full details of the incident are yet to come, NADA has expressed concern that the human, material and financial losses may be greater.

NADA expressed its sympathy to the citizens, families, businessmen, security personnel and local communities affected by the disaster and expressed respect to the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepali Army, local administration and all the rescue workers engaged in search, rescue and relief work.

NADA has asked the citizens of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan and other potentially affected areas to be highly alert as there may be risks in the areas connected to the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river systems. NADA has also requested the citizens to stay in a safe place and follow the safety information and instructions issued by the relevant agencies.

Stating that they are with the affected communities in this difficult situation of the disaster, NADA has stated that it is ready to cooperate with the relevant government and security agencies in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts. NADA has expressed its solidarity with all those affected by the calamity, wishing for the safety of the affected citizens and speedy restoration of the damaged areas.
