Monsoon Preparedness: 24-hour early warning and flood forecasting services will be conducted

Kathmandu. Aiming at the upcoming monsoon, the Department of Water and Meteorology has released a detailed emergency action plan to reduce the loss of life and property due to possible disasters. The department has said that throughout the monsoon period, weather forecasting, flood forecasting and early warning system will be operated around the clock. Archana Shrestha, acting director general of the department, informed that the weather forecast division and flood forecast division will be active around the clock.
"The regular weather forecast for three days will be published daily at 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, while in special situations, a special bulletin will be issued with warnings three to five days in advance," she said.
