Monsoon has extended to four more states, most areas are expected to receive less than normal rainfall
Kathmandu. This year's monsoon system in Nepal has expanded to the eastern and central parts of the country. Monsoon, which entered Nepal from Koshi province last Friday six days later than the average time, has spread to four more provinces till today.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Water and Meteorology, currently monsoon has extended to the entire territory of Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, some areas of Gandaki Province and the eastern region of Lumbini Province. Monsoon, which normally enters Nepal on June 13, has entered six days late this year.
According to Sanjeev Adhikari, meteorologist of the division, as the monsoon system is currently in a weak state, it seems that it will take a few more days to fully extend to the rest of the country. At present, with the extension of the influence of monsoon, it has started to rain, especially in various places of eastern and central Nepal.
