Middle East war causes fuel crisis in Asia: Army deployment in Bangladesh, Alopalo system to drive vehicles in Myanmar

Main News Image

Kathmandu. Due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, the price of crude oil has increased sharply in the international market, and there has been a severe lack of fuel and public anger in various countries in Asia. Especially in Bangladesh, after the situation became very tense, the government had to deploy soldiers to protect the major oil depots.

The fear of fuel shortage in this country, which depends on imports for almost 95 percent of its energy needs, has led to long queues of vehicles at petrol pumps across the country, including the capital Dhaka. Due to the lack of easy supply, angry drivers have even vandalized the pump, while a young man has also died in a clash over fuel filling in the southern district of Zhenaidah. After the death of a 25-year-old youth, police patrols around petrol pumps have been increased to tighten security after an agitated mob set fire to buses.
