Melamchi drinking water diversion warning

Kathmandu. Residents of Melamchi have warned that if their demands are not met within 10 days, they will completely stop the transfer of Melamchi water supply to Kathmandu. Consumers and flood victims met Water Minister Madan Periyar on Sunday and gave this warning.

According to Uttar Kumar Shrestha, the distributor of Melamchi water supply, Minister Yadav has asked for ten days to implement the agreements made in the past. An agreement was reached with the then Water Minister Pradeep Yadav to fulfill the demands of the 2078 flood victims and other victims. Demanding the implementation of the agreement, the victims have repeatedly stopped the water diversion.
