'Matribhasha National Poetry Festival 2082' completed

Kathmandu. Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan organized the International Mother Language Day-2026. At the beginning of the program, there was a procession around Kamaladi, Ganthghar, Ratnapark and Darbarmarg in Kathmandu with the tableau displaying the goods and costumes and cultural characteristics of different tribes and mother tongue groups. In the program Tharu, Newa: Magar, Limbu, Thami, Dhimal, Sherpa, Gurung, Chantyal, Sunuwar, Rai, Tamang and other tribals were included in the program. The tribe presented their cultural tableaus. The festival was inaugurated by Bhupal Rai, the chancellor of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan by lighting a panas. He addressed the program and said that Nepal's mother tongue has been discriminated against. In the name of protection and promotion of the mother tongue, not only formality but the government should make a special contribution, he emphasized that everyone should be aware of the end of linguistic and cultural violence. He said that he would enrich his own language and save the language. 

Dr. Dhanprasad Subedi, member secretary of Pragya-Pratishthan, said that Pragya-Pratishthan is organizing a discussion, discussion and Mother Language National Poetry Festival on the occasion of International Mother Language Day with the aim of uplifting the mother tongue of all castes.

       The coordinator of Matribhasha National Poetry Festival-2082, member of Pragya-Pratishthan's academic council and head of Literature Matribhasha Kosh and Grammar Department, Trailokyaman Banepali 'Agib' said that everyone had to sacrifice and struggle for a long time to protect and promote the mother tongue in Nepal. 

Discussing that all mother tongues are the national language and Kathmandu Metropolis has arranged teaching in Nepali language, discussing that more than dozen of mother tongues including Maithili are being taught in schools, saying that this is an important work to save the mother tongue.
