Kathmandu. From Rupandehi Constituency No. 3, the candidate of Rashtriya Swatantra Party RSVP Dr. Lekhjung Thapa has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives. According to Chief Electoral Officer Ashok Kumar Basnet, Thapa won by a very wide margin. He got a total of 58 thousand 814 votes and became the winner
His nearest competitor Sushil Gurung of Nepali Congress got only 8,435 votes. The difference between Thapa and Gurung is 50 thousand 379. Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Vasudev Ghimire has received 8,275 votes, while Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RDP) candidate Gaurav Bohra has received 7,789 votes.
In this area of Rupaandehi, Dr. Thapa of RSVP has set a new record by securing more than twice the total votes of the candidates of UML, Congress and RPP. This tsunami of Ughantiu in this region, which is considered to be the confluence of Madhes and hills, has shocked the old political powers.
