Pokhara. Raju Rai, the leader of RSVP Kaski, has left the party. He has announced that he has left the party on social media today, concluding that politics is not a simple and honest thing to do. Rai has written on Facebook, 'Isn't politics something to be done simply and honestly? From today, you will not waste 1 kudy money and 1 second of time for politics and party? As a free citizen, I will engage in social service.
He also wrote a Facebook status two days ago saying that voting for a party where you need to know the leader and buy a ticket is putting a debt on your head. Rai, who contested from Kaski 1 in the 2079 election, got 10,941 votes. UML's Man Bahadur Gurung won there with 25,708 votes, Congress's Kishore Dutt Baral, who came second, got 23,089 votes, Rai was third. It is said that Rai, who left the party, is still aspiring for the ticket.
By not giving a ticket to Rai who got 10,000 votes in the last election, the RSVP has nominated Khadakraj Paudel, who was elected mayor of Pokhara with a cane symbol, as a candidate in the local elections. Rai was dissatisfied with the party leadership since the ticket was given to Paudel. Dozens of leaders have left the RSVP in the recent past, saying that there was financial manipulation in the distribution of tickets.
