Laying of pipes for Melamchi water distribution started
Kathmandu. In order to effectively distribute the water of the Melamchi water supply project in the Kathmandu valley, the work of laying a pipe of 1800 mm diameter has been started in the Sundarijal area. According to Project Implementation Directorate PID, this is the largest size diameter pipe ever used for water supply by PID in Nepal.
Chief of Directorate and Engineer Ramkumar Shrestha informed that the construction process for expansion of water distribution in Bhaktapur, Kirtipur, Madhyapurthimi, Kapan, Jorpati and Pepsicola areas has been advanced. Tenders have already been invited for the expansion of water distribution network in five areas. Now other processes will start soon," said Engineer Shrestha.
