Kushmanda Devi is being worshiped today on the fourth day of Badadashain
Kathmandu. On the fourth day of Navratri, Kushmanda Devi, the fourth form of Navadurga, is being worshiped in the Dashain house or in the pooja room. Every year on Ashwin Shukla Chaturthi i.e. the fourth day of Durga Paksha, ritualistic worship of Kushmanda Devi remains a classical practice. There are three types of heat called 'Kushma' namely spiritual, metaphysical and supernatural.
Kushmanda, the fourth goddess of Navadurga, is known as Kushmanda because she takes away all these three heats of the devotees who have come to the shelter. As mentioned in various Puranas, Bhagwati Kushmanda wears a goblet filled with sura and a blood vessel.
