Kathmandu's sewage treatment plant will soon be put into operation

Kathmandu. The waste water treatment plants that have been constructed at various locations in Kathmandu Valley will soon be put into operation. It is expected that this will reduce the amount of contaminated water entering rivers and streams and help control environmental pollution. Project Implementation Directorate PID is constructing waste water treatment plant in Dhobikhola, Guhyeshwari and Kodku areas.

On Friday, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, PID and Asian Development Bank ADB conducted a joint monitoring and inspection of the processing centers built in Guhyeshwari and Dhobikhola. It is said that Guheshwari Wastewater Treatment Center has been constructed with the capacity to process three million 2.5 million liters of waste water per day.
