Kathmandu. Janaipurnima festival is being celebrated across the country today by wearing new Yajnopavit Janai and Rakshabandhan. Along with Arundhati, eight sages namely Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadwaja, Vishwamitra, Gautama, Jamadagni, Vashishta and Agastya are worshiped and offered on this day, so this day is also called Rishi Tarpani.
