Mediabaaji.com Kathmandu, December 10. Solukhumbu. The program of "Chancellor in school" and poetry recital was organized by Sagarmatha Secondary School located in Bung, Mahakulung Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu under the chief hospitality of Bhupal Rai, Chancellor of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan.
Chancellor Rai said that each caste has its own mother tongue. Everyone should be able to write poems and other works in their own mother tongue. Kulung language is prevalent in Mahakulung. Kulung-speaking students and literary creators were inspired to create literature in this language. As Mahakulung Rural Municipality is a local government, it was suggested to form 'Mahakulung Pragya-Pratishthan' to protect and promote Kulung and other languages. He said that the country will be culturally prosperous only if the mother tongue survives. The special guest, Dr. Dhan Prasad Subedi, Member Secretary of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan, highlighted the historical background and academic structure of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan and advised the students to write poetry in Nepali and English as well as their mother tongue. Special Guest Surya Bahadur Kulung, President of Mahakulung Rural Municipality Bung, Solukhumbu, said that academic personalities including the Chancellor of Nepal Pragya-Pratishthan come to the villages and schools to inspire the development of language, literature, culture and arts. After studying this, Mahakulung Pragya-Pratishthan will be established and he said that the mother language and literature of this region will be developed.
In the program organized under the chairmanship of Subas Rai, the chairman of the school management committee, Rajman Rai, the principal of the school, gave a welcome speech.
Dances and songs were performed along with Bol's national anthem. Poems were recited in the program in Nepali, English and Kulung languages. Poet Tilak Bahing Rai recited a poem titled 'Lali Gunras' and poet Manuhang Kirati recited a poem titled 'Nepali's Chinari'.
Amrita Kulung, a class-7 student of the said school, recited a poem titled 'Gyanko Jyoti' in Nepali language to welcome the Chancellor. Diya Kulung, Sustika Kulung and Barsha Rai presented their poems in English. Similarly, Jenny Kulung (Nepali and Kulung language) and Prinsa Kulung recited poems in Kulung language.
The chancellor, interaction and poetry reading program was completed with grandeur in the school.
