Irregular Tinker Naka for four years, business affected

Kathmandu. The Tinkar Pass of Darchula, located on the Nepal-China-Tibet border, was once the main base of trade, movement and cultural relations of the local community. For generations, local people have been doing regular business of salt, wool, food grains and other materials through this crossing.
In 2020, due to the covid-19 epidemic, Tinkar Naka has not been able to operate regularly. As the border remains closed, local business has come to a standstill, while employment opportunities have dwindled, and the citizens of the border settlements have begun to feel neglected by the state.
Yogesh Bohra, central member of Nepal-China Himalayan Friendship Society and local businessman of Byas Rural Municipality-1 Yogesh Bohra, said that there is a problem in the trade business because of the regular Tinkar crossing.
