Inspector General Karki wore the badge, took over the police command
Kathmandu. The newly appointed Inspector General of Police IGP Dan Bahadur Karki has worn the badge. Home Secretary Rameshwar Dangal gave Karki the badge of Inspector General of Police in a program organized in the ministry. The cabinet meeting on October 25 decided to appoint Karki as the highest post of IGP of Nepal Police.
Due to 30 years of service, the outgoing IGP Chandrakuver Khapung went on mandatory retirement from 12 midnight on 26th October, and the command of Nepal Police came to the hands of Karki. Karki has experience of working from field to IGP Secretariat. Karki has created the identity of an honest police officer. Karki took command of the valley during the Genji movement on August 24.
Karki, who joined the service as a police inspector in 2054 Chait, will be the Inspector General of Police till 2084 Chait, with a 30-year service period. He was promoted to DSP in November 2066. He was promoted to SP in July 2074 and became SSP in July 2079. He was promoted to DIG in October 2081 and was promoted to AIG in April 2082.
