Initiatives to resolve premium fee disputes related to dedicated and trucklines are positive
Kathmandu. Industrialists have welcomed the government's initiative to resolve the long-standing dedicated and truckline premium charge dispute between the Nepal Electricity Authority and large industries. A team of industrialists under the leadership of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, held a discussion with Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Kulman Ghising, and Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Anil Kumar Sinha on 07/17/2082.
The main agenda of the discussion was that the electricity supply of 25 industries had recently been cut by the Nepal Electricity Authority due to non-payment of disputed tariffs. It is said that a middle way solution was found in the discussion between the industrialists and the government.
According to the agreement in the discussion, it has been decided that the industries will deposit 1/28 part of the disputed amount determined by the authority to the Nepal Electricity Authority's guarantee account, the Nepal Electricity Authority will reconnect the cut electricity supply, and it has been decided to continue the previously formed review committee and review the petitions registered by the industries in accordance with the law.
