Indiscriminate firing on oil tanker off Oman coast
Kathmandu. Indiscriminate firing targeting an oil tanker off the coast of Oman, despite the crew being safe, the Iranian military has launched an attack on commercial ships amid the naval blockade imposed by the United States on Iranian ports in the region, according to the BBC.
According to the United Kingdom's Maritime Trade Organization, two gunboats of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps fired indiscriminately at an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, 20 nautical miles northeast of Oman. Although the tanker and crew members were said to be safe in the incident, great panic has spread in the area.
According to the international news organization Reuters, at least two other commercial ships were also shot while crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
