Inauguration of Nagadhunga-Sisnekhola Tunnel: Country's first modern road tunnel in operation

Kathmandu. Nagadhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel, which is the first modern and commercial road tunnel in Nepal, has been officially inaugurated. Among the special ceremony held at the project site, the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal and the Japanese Ambassador to Nepal along with the representatives of the Japanese International Cooperation Commission (JICA) jointly inaugurated the tunnel.
With the launch of this national pride project, which has been eagerly awaited for a long time, it is expected that the road traffic between Kathmandu Valley and other districts of the country will be more convenient, safe, orderly and fast.
The opening ceremony was attended by high government officials, representatives of construction companies, representatives of the Japanese diplomatic mission and local residents.
