Improvement in both import and export in the three months of the current year, trade deficit increased by 12.2 percent

Kathmandu. Imports and exports have increased in the first three months of the current financial year. According to the data published by Nepal Rastra Bank, compared to the same period of the last financial year, exports have increased by 89.6 percent and imports by 19.8 percent this year. In the three months of the current financial year, goods worth 72 billion 78 billion rupees were exported, while goods worth 4 trillion 68 billion 8 billion rupees were imported.
During this period, exports to India increased by 136.9 percent and exports to other countries increased by 3.8 percent, according to the National Bank. Similarly, during the review period, there has been a significant decrease in exports to China. There has been an increase of 7.5 percent in goods imported from India, 33.4 percent in goods imported from China and 46.5 percent in goods imported from other countries. Likewise, the trade deficit has increased by 12.2 percent to 3 trillion 95 billion 30 billion rupees. During the same period last year, the trade deficit was reduced by 4 percent. The export-import ratio of goods was 9.8 percent last year and reached 15.5 percent this year.
