Import of 31 billion through Rasuwagadhi crossing, export of dry grass from Nepal
Kathmandu. In the nine months of the current financial year, goods worth Rs. 31 billion 30 million have entered through Rasuwagadhi, an important point of trade between Nepal and China. Among the materials imported through the border are roll cloth, ready-made clothes, electric EV vehicles, construction materials for hydropower and infrastructure development projects, apples, garlic, industrial raw materials, industrial and mill machinery materials, and equipment for the 'Fast Track' project being built by the Nepali Army.
According to Tulsi Prasad Bhattarai, Chief Customs Officer of Rasuwa Customs Office, Timure, six billion 42 crores of revenue has been collected from the assessment of imported materials in a period of nine months. He informed that business is being conducted through the border despite the difficult geographical conditions and frequent natural obstacles.
Handicraft materials, traditional Nepalese clothes, bamboo wraps, ``packed'' dry grass, noodles and biscuits for feeding the chawri in the Tibet region have been exported from Nepal to China worth about Rs 650 million. Despite the limited production capacity, the export of Nepali goods is expanding according to the Customs Office.
