House of Representatives meeting: Government's attention on disaster management and public concerns

Main News Image

Kathmandu. In the House of Representatives meeting held on Thursday, MPs from various parties drew the government's attention to the issues of disaster management, shortage of cooking gas in the market, health conditions in remote areas and infrastructure construction.

National Independent Party MP Yagyamani Neupane objected to the fact that the relief materials that came as foreign aid for the Rasuwa disaster were left in the cargo hold of Tribhuvan International Airport.

Speaking in the parliament after the on-site inspection of the airport, he said that due to customs and procedural complications, aid materials including clothes could not reach the victims. He requested the government not to waste relief materials on the pretext of lack of demand and to arrange immediate supply to the affected areas including Rasuwa.
